Almost One Year...

I cannot believe it's been one year this month that we moved to Basel!!

So much has changed.

So much has grown.

So much has been missed.

So much has been healed.

My journal entries look different- less scared, more secure.

My body looks different- less deprived, more strong.

My relationship with my son looks different- less intimidating, more nurturing.

An unexpected gift this year has been falling in love with Rafael. He and I have spent countless hours napping together, dancing, running after trams, showing up early to appointments, getting lost, trying new foods, reading together, meeting new people, running errands, and all the fun and mundane things one does in their day in a beautiful city in a brand “new to us” country. I've never been a stay at home mama before and it’s exhausting. And hard. And exciting! And good... It turned out to be really good.

In a few weeks I’m going back to work and he will start Kindergarten and I feel as though I am cutting the cord again. [Insert one million cry face emojis] So, change is happening!

There's no way I could have anticipated how filled up I would be by my community sending us off or the community that was waiting for me. The generosity and kindness I've been given is overwhelming. I've been reminiscing about those last few weeks in California and the tremendous work and love that everyone poured into us. Thank you, Beloveds.

From the bottom of my heart.
